Great Bear Resources began work on the Project in 2017. Kinross closely followed the growth of this exploration property and in February of 2022 acquired the company and project. With a rapidly accelerated exploration program and a total of 571, 000 metres drilled since acquisition and a total of 920,000 metres since 2017, Kinross released an initial mineral resource on the property in February of 2023. In February of this year, Kinross announced an updated mineral resource of approximately 2.8 million Au oz. of measured and indicated mineral resources, and approximately 3.3 million ounces of inferred mineral resources. The team is currently working towards final permitting for an Advanced Exploration Project and is moving forward on Main Mine Planning and Permitting. A Project Preliminary Economic Assessment is planned to be released in mid-September of this year.
