What happens when we stop approaching a major mineral development project one permit at a time and start looking at the project as a whole?

This panel will explore the first year of Ontario's One Project, One Process (1P1P) initiative through the lens of Frontier Lithium's PAK Project, the first project designated under the framework. Representatives from government and industry will share their perspectives on what greater coordination looks like in practice, what has been learned so far, and what those lessons could mean for future mineral development in Ontario.The discussion will examine how looking at a project as a whole can help identify issues earlier, improve coordination and transparency, and create a clearer path through permitting and approvals.

Panelists will reflect on what has worked, where challenges remain, and how the approach can continue to evolve based on real project experience.

The session will also look ahead to how lessons from Frontier Lithium’s PAK Project can inform future projects—providing greater certainty for proponents, creating better opportunities for meaningful Indigenous participation, and strengthening Ontario's ability to attract investment and advance critical mineral projects.
